Kitchen Utensil Bouquets for Bridging
Lower School families are invited to help create kitchen utensil “bouquets” for Bridging — an organization devoted to helping families find safe, affordable housing and “furnishing homes with hope.”
Once families have a home, they need lots of things. Kitchen utensils are especially important because cooking meals at home really helps families save money. Imagine if you have a can of food, but no way to open it. Most food shelves have only boxed and canned food. Having a simple thing like a can opener can be pretty important!
Recommended items to buy include:
- can opener
- dish towels / cloths / scrubbers
- mixing spoons
- hot pads
- measuring spoons / cups
- pizza slicer
- vegetable peeler
We would like to create “bouquets" of kitchen utensils to welcome families to their new homes. Our goal is for each Lower School class to create three or more “bouquets” of kitchen utensils by JANUARY 29.
Students and families can participate by purchasing items, writing notes OR making potholders. If you have a “potholder loom” that we could borrow, please be sure to mark it with student's name and send to school.
Dollar Stores are a great option for purchasing inexpensive utensils. Gently-used donations are accepted, as well.
